We have to use what we have right now: so we’re working out a lot at home. It’s not always exciting and you don’t have the same urban environment of a boutique gym or relaxing yoga studio in your living room, but you can make it more fun with these 6 tips!

1. Put on a spicy sports outfit

Try it, it really works. Instead of those leggings with tomato stains and that far too wide shirt, pull those new sports pants and that cool shirt out of the closet. Take a selfie and look in the mirror, because you look good! That positive energy gives you a direct kick and makes you start your workout much more motivated. You take care of yourself and well, the eye wants something too, right? You’ll probably feel like a sporty spice when you start your live class.

2. Put on a good playlist

Music is important while exercising. It can give you a boost, it can relax you and it can free your head for a while. By adding the right music or playlist to your workout, you make sure that you get even more in the mood and are completely in that workout. Having trouble getting started? We help you with our Spotify playlists! Quickly set up your favorite workout playlist and you’ll definitely be in the right mood. Who said disco is only for the club?

3. Do a different workout each day

Repetition becomes boring in the long run. Give your workout routine a twist and try something new every day! You’ve never twerked before? Go for it. Nobody can see you… that’s the advantage of that living room 😉 Do a yoga, Zumba, Barre Tone, CrossFit®, Hips don’t lie, Billenworkout (those are definitely not just for the ladies) or E-Boxing and discover a new workout every day! That way you’ll be busy for a while and you’ll surprise yourself every day again.

4. Work out in the morning

Aren’t you a morning person? You can become one! A lot of research has proven that morning sports are very good for you. It gets your metabolism going, you go into the day with more energy, you are instantly awake and your head is free to concentrate on your work. Sleep coach Anouk Puister told us that you have a cortisol peak in the morning: just after getting up. Because you are very energetic at that moment, this has a positive effect on your sports performance in the morning. So don’t stay in bed too long, layout your sports outfit in the evening before, and start your day with a live class!

5. Change your location (in the house)

Don’t you feel like doing the same workout in the same place every time? You don’t have to! Of course, it depends on how big your house is, but you can probably find some places where you can alternately do your workouts. Are you tired of the living room? Put your mat down in the bedroom! Do you prefer fresh air? On the balcony, you can do a number of nice classes that don’t take up a lot of space.

6. Reward yourself

Some say that the reward afterward is the most enjoyable part of the workout. That’s debatable of course, but it’s best to reward yourself after that hard work! While exercising you create endorphins, hormones that give you a feeling of reward and satisfaction. If you top this off with a nice protein shake, a nice lunch, or a nice shower and me-time, you won’t be able to stop your happiness. Try it out!

Good news! We can work out outdoors again

Yesss! Wednesday, Mark Rutte announced that we can work out outdoors again. Of course, with an appropriate distance of 1.5 meters, a maximum of 10 people and contact sports are not yet possible. But it’s a start! Behind the scenes, at OneFit we are working very hard to offer you outdoor workouts as soon as possible. So keep an eye on things and check your inbox regularly. See you soon!
