Already back from vacation? Or did you take a break from exercising over the summer? Then you’re probably ready for some regularity and exercise.
Don’t worry, OneFit comes to your rescue: in this blog, you’ll find five great tips and tricks to get back into your rhythm and get through your day with positive energy!
1. Don’t be too hard on yourself
You don’t have to jump in right away and start out tremendously strict: that’s harder to keep up in the long run. Set small goals for yourself and start slowly. This way you can get used to a little more movement and you can slowly get back to your familiar routine.
For example, set your alarm 10 minutes earlier every day, instead of a full hour. Set small (daily) goals that are easy to achieve. Go for a walk and set yourself a goal of a number of steps per day. And plan a workout for the week, or two!
2. Get a workout buddy
Everything is more fun when you’re together. And with a buddy, it’s also easier to keep up appointments! Do you know people who have OneFit? Awesome, because you can add each other in the app as friends and invite each other for workouts. Do a workout together at a unique location, for example, Sweat and Joy guaranteed!
Besides being a lot of fun, it’s also a big help to make sure you stick to the booking you made 🤩 . That way you’re less likely to drop out of the workout and you stay fit together. Win = win.
3. Wear your favorite sports outfit
Nothing is more irritating than leggings that don’t fit properly or a t-shirt that is too tight while exercising. You can prevent these irritations (and a lower motivation to work out in them) by taking a good look at your sportswear and investing in it. Also, it really makes exercising more fun: when you look in the mirror and think, “Hey, that looks nice!” gives you an instant boost.
So go through your closet and find your best sports outfit, put it ready in the evening and you’ll see that in no time you feel like hitting the gym again. Have fun!
4. Do the workouts you love most, first
Of course, it’s nice to step out of your comfort zone every now and then and try new things, challenge yourself. But that’s a step you have to take when you’re back in your routine and feel fit.
So start with workouts you already know, where you feel comfortable and where you know what to expect. This way you won’t have to drag yourself to something you loathe and you’re less inclined to hit the cancel button last minute. Want to bet that it works?
5. A good night’s sleep is your bestie
Things that are often forgotten during a sports routine or workout regime are nutrition and sleep. How important is it to get enough sleep? Hugely important. It affects your performance, motivation (in the morning) and your health in general. Therefore, go to bed on time and give yourself that rest! We dare to say that you will get out of bed more easily in the morning.
In addition, of course, nutrition is also a big pillar when it comes to a healthy lifestyle. Do you want to get back to your workout routine and could use a little support? Then make sure you get enough protein (muscle), eat a balanced diet and get enough nutrients (also for good resistance!).
Stay fit, stay healthy.
