Bouldering is a specific discipline within climbing, that captures the essence of this challenging sport: strength, technique, strategic insight, stamina and sometimes you also need a little courage! It’s an effective way of getting in shape, because bouldering is a true full-body workout. During an indoor bouldering session you’ll be climbing without any ropes to a maximum altitude of 4 meters, above a thick crash mat. Boulders have been categorised by certain levels (3-7C), which makes it accessible for anyone. The colour of the grips marks your route.
At Bouldermuur The Hague they LOVE climbing, but it’s not just about the workout. The social aspect of the sport is equally important. Aside from the standard circuits, they also have an ongoing competition (all levels) with an ever-fun kick-off! The boulders sometimes call for creative solutions, working as a team to figure them out is not only helpful but also motivational. If you want to relax with a nice drink, there’s plenty of seating corners with a view of the bouldering/climbing wall, which offer a great spot to kick back and chat to your fellow climbers. They also offer meals (including veggie and vegan) and snacks, great for the post-workout munchies or if you’re in a rush to/from work.
